Overview
Rondebosch Golf Club is one of Cape Town's classic parkland courses, set in the southern suburbs a few minutes from the city centre and close to the international airport. Its neighbour, Mowbray Golf Club, sits just across the way, making this one of the busiest pockets of golf in the Cape.
The course was originally designed by the noted architect Bob Grimsdell. Road building on the peninsula and the widening of local rivers for flood control have changed parts of it over the years, but it remains very much his original idea: challenging yet friendly to ordinary golfers, and more than 6,000 metres from the back tees.
The clubhouse is relaxed and well equipped, with food and drink, a modern golf shop and Wi-Fi. Its distinctive veranda overlooks the practice putting green, with the Hottentots Holland mountain range in the distance, and there is ample parking.
Visitors pay R750 for 18 holes in 2026, with lower rates for seniors, juniors, students and members' guests, and affiliated golfers can use the cheaper Pay to Play rates. A hole-by-hole flyover video on the club's website is a good way to preview the layout before you play.
