Overview
Golf & Country Club Schönenberg sits in the wetland landscape around the Krebsbach stream between Schönenberg and Hirzel, in a green recreation area between Zurich and Zug. The demanding 18-hole course was built here in 1967, and the club says it has met the highest standards for members and guests ever since. OpenStreetMap lists the course as par 72.
The club puts tradition first, combined with sporting golf and friendly company. It is a private members' club, but it does welcome visiting golfers from other clubs on weekdays. Fees are high for unaccompanied visitors, while members of the associated Zurich clubs and guests of members pay much less.
The clubhouse restaurant is open seven days a week. It is run by restaurant manager Lars Büchler and his team. The pro shop has an unusual story. It opened in spring 2015 in a building that was a cowshed before golf first came to the Krebsbach about 50 years ago, and that later housed the club restaurant for many years. The shop has kept its old charm, but today it stocks a careful selection of golf and leisure clothing and the latest equipment, under Reto Krauer. The club also has teaching professionals.

History & highlights
The 18-hole course was laid out in 1967 beside the Krebsbach. The building that now holds the pro shop dates from before the golf course: it began as a cowshed, became the club restaurant, and reopened as the pro shop in spring 2015.
The course runs through the marshy meadows along the Krebsbach, in quiet countryside between Zurich and Zug.
The club describes its 18-hole layout as challenging, kept to a very high standard since 1967.
Pick up gear in a characterful old farm building that once housed the club restaurant.
