Overview
Golf ARES Těšetice, also called the Královská vinice (Royal Vineyard) golf area, is a relaxed 9-hole country course in the village of Těšetice near Znojmo, in the wine country of South Moravia. It is a par-34 layout aimed at golfers of every level, from complete beginners to experienced players working on their handicap, and both the course and its club are open to the public.
Green fees are modest. On weekdays 9 holes cost 400 Kč and 18 holes 600 Kč; at weekends and on public holidays the rates rise to 500 Kč and 700 Kč. Use of the driving range is included with every round, or costs 100 Kč on its own, and juniors up to 15 get half price on the course and practice areas. Clubs, bags, trolleys and buggies can all be hired at reception.
Coaching is a big part of what happens here. The driving range is the base for lessons with the club’s coaches, and training for children and young people starts every year on 1 April. Adults can book a 60-minute individual lesson for 500 Kč, join the five-hour Golf Academy introduction for 3000 Kč per person, or sit the club handicap test for HCP 54. Groups and companies can book a five-hour Golf Kolektiv session ending in a mini tournament, and there is a two-day residential golf weekend for 6 to 12 participants with ten hours of tuition. In summer the club also runs golf day camps for children.
A full tournament calendar runs through the season, from the spring opener on 18 April to the autumn farewell on 17 October, with several events linked to local wineries and businesses and the Znojmo mayor’s cup in September.

History & highlights
The Těšetice golf club was founded in the autumn of 2003. Its first meeting was held on 1 October 2003 in Práče, where six founding members drew up the statutes, and the club was formally registered a few days later. On 12 March 2005 it was admitted to the Czech Golf Federation, a step the club sees as key to the growth of golf in South Moravia, and in 2016 it was re-registered as an association. The club holds an exclusive agreement with the operator, ARES 96 s.r.o., to use the course at the Královská vinice golf area.
Every green fee includes use of the driving range, so warming up costs nothing extra.
Several of the season’s tournaments are run with local wineries, including a gastro event with wine tasting.
Lessons, a five-hour academy and an in-house handicap test make this an easy place to start golf.
