Overview
Puerto Cancún's championship course is laid out among mangroves, natural canals and the Caribbean Sea, on the edge of Cancún's Hotel Zone. Tom Weiskopf designed the 18-hole, par-72 layout, which stretches to 7,241 yards from the back. Five tee markers on every hole make it playable for golfers of every age and level.
The holes wind through channels of clear water and native Caribbean vegetation. Each one works the natural surroundings into the challenge, so strategy counts for as much as technique. The big draw is the backdrop: few courses anywhere let you swing with the turquoise sea on the horizon, and here the Caribbean is in view as you play.
Off the course, the clubhouse has a pro shop stocking well-known brands, performance accessories and equipment. The club runs a programme of tournaments and events each year that bring together top players from the region. Its team of teaching professionals holds more than 129 state, national and international titles between them and offers lessons for children and beginners, group clinics and private sessions.
The Shots Puerto Cancún range is the only driving range in Cancún with Toptracer technology. Every shot is tracked live, with distance, speed and trajectory shown on screen, the same system used on professional golf broadcasts. There are 11 game modes, from Virtual Golf on courses such as St Andrews, Pebble Beach and Torrey Pines to Long Drive, Closest to Pin and a family-friendly Angry Birds mode. Bays hold up to six players, and food and drinks are served right to your bay. The wider Puerto Cancún development also has a beach club, padel courts, a marina and a spa.
