Overview

Golfbaan Delfland lies in the quiet green polders of Midden-Delfland, just outside Schipluiden and between Delft, Rotterdam and The Hague. It is one of the busiest courses in the Netherlands, with more than 200,000 rounds played every year. It was founded on a simple idea: no members, just golf for anyone who wants to pay and play.

The 27-hole Championship Course was designed by Dutch architect Gerard Jol. It is made up of three loops of nine, Red (A), Yellow (B) and Blue (C), which combine into different 18-hole rounds. Expect an open layout with wide fairways, playful water features and gently rolling greens. On the original Red–Yellow 18, the men's yellow tees measure 5,627 metres at par 72 with a course rating of 71.3.

Alongside the main course there is a floodlit nine-hole Par 3 Challenge Course with strategically placed bunkers and water, playable into the evening. There is also the Joost Luiten Green Course, a nine-hole putting and chipping course on high-quality artificial turf, named after the Dutch tour pro and free for children aged 4 to 18.

Practice facilities stand out. The floodlit driving range has 52 Inrange bays that track every shot, and there are two large putting greens, a pitching area with bunkers and a chipping zone. Golfacademy Delfland, a PGA Holland-recognised school, teaches all levels, and the brasserie stays open late.

History & highlights

Delfland was founded in 1999 and opened in 2000, deliberately without memberships so that the course would be open to every golfer on a pay-per-visit basis. The original 18 holes, the Red and Yellow loops, were joined in 2009 by the Blue loop, making 27 holes. In 2008 the course hosted the Dutch national championship for women professionals. The club joined the Dutch golf federation's Committed to Green programme in 2015, which led to GEO certification for sustainable management in 2017. In 2025 it opened the first Joost Luiten Green Course.
