Overview
HimmerLand is one of Denmark's best-known golf resorts. It sits in the hilly countryside of Himmerland in North Jutland, between the lake Sjørup Sø and the village of Gatten, roughly midway between Aalborg and Aarhus. Golf is the centrepiece: two full 18-hole courses, the Old Course and the New Course, plus a six-hole Pay & Play course by the lake that suits beginners and families.
The New Course is the resort's championship layout. It became widely known as the home of the Made in Denmark tournament on the European Tour, now the DP World Tour. Both 18-hole courses start behind the Starters House, and your round begins in the shop, where you collect a scorecard. At weekends, on public holidays and in holiday periods, on-course catering brings food and drink out to the course.
Practice is a big part of the offer. The driving range is open all year, a TrackMan golf simulator can be booked by the hour, and resident PGA professionals teach everything from driving to bunker play. Lessons can use TrackMan, and the resort runs weekend courses for beginners working towards the Danish golf licence (golfkørekort). There is also an equipment-washing station, changing rooms with showers below the club office, and Garia golf carts with built-in coolers.
Off the course, HimmerLand is a full resort with hotel rooms and holiday homes, a spa and wellness area, a swimming pool, padel, bowling, tennis and three restaurants: HimmerRiget for fine dining, Hul19 for à la carte and pizza, and Larsens Sportsbar.

History & highlights
HimmerLand was founded in 1986 by Danish businessman Lars Larsen and is still owned by the Lars Larsen Group. Its profile grew in 2014, when the resort hosted the first Made in Denmark, a European Tour event. HimmerLand hosted it again from 2015 to 2017, in 2019 and from 2021 to 2023 under the name Made in HimmerLand. Winners include Thomas Pieters, Bernd Wiesberger (twice) and Denmark's own Rasmus Højgaard in 2023. In 2015 the 16th hole played just 79 yards in the final round, the shortest par 3 in European Tour history. Since 2024 the event, now the Danish Golf Championship, has moved to other Danish venues.
