Overview

Golfclub München Eichenried calls itself the Leading Golf Club in the north of Munich. It is a large facility with 34 holes in total: a 27-hole course made up of three nines (par 36, 36 and 37 according to OpenStreetMap), plus a separate 6-hole short course and extensive practice grounds. The club also runs its own golf academy, a busy tournament and event calendar and active junior and team golf.

Green fees are sold for 18 or 9 holes. Prices are higher at weekends and on holidays, and guests playing with a member pay less than other visitors. There are useful discounts too. Members of the Leading Golf Clubs of Germany pay a flat weekday rate. On Tuesdays the club joins the Münchner Kreis, a group of clubs with 31 courses around Munich, for half-price green fees. Pupils and students also get 50 per cent off.

Since the 2022 season the driving range has used the Toptracer system. Touchscreen monitors next to each player show live data such as carry distance, ball speed and launch height. You can practise on your own or switch to the game modes, playing famous courses virtually or competing against friends, with 7 modes in all. Eight heated bays keep the range usable in cold weather, and floodlights allow play after dark.

The clubhouse restaurant, Villa Doria, is run by Caterina Domenicano and her son Mirko Capozzi. It serves Italian food such as pasta allo scoglio, and homemade cakes and desserts, from crostata and German cheesecake to tiramisù, zuppa inglese and panna cotta. In summer there is a gelato station on the terrace. The car park has charging points for 20 electric cars, run in cooperation with BMW.
