Overview
Jæren Golfklubb is a nine-hole club in the middle of the Jæren district of Rogaland, on Norway’s south-west coast, a short drive south of the town of Bryne. Its main course is a 9-hole layout with a par of 35, and the club describes it as suitable for beginners and experienced golfers alike. Playing the loop twice gives you a full 18-hole round, and green fees are set for both options.
Alongside the main course there is a separate short course (korthullsbane) that is free for members and costs a small daily fee for visitors, which makes it a good place for newcomers and for working on the short game. The club has also produced a 3D flyover video of every hole on its course guide page, so you can see the layout before you arrive.
Practice facilities are good for a club of this size. The Totalbetong Range, on the same side as the clubhouse, is about 60 metres long with 20 hitting mats, 9 of them under cover, and it is open to everyone. Balls are bought with a payment card at the ball machine or through the Golfnext app. There is also a practice area next to the range.
A newer simulator building houses three TrackMan simulators and a social area with a kitchen. It is staffed every evening and can be hired by groups and companies for golf nights and team-building events, with options such as club hire and a session with a PGA professional.

In autumn the club switches to winter tees to protect the teeing grounds while grass growth is slow, and the pro shop closes for the off-season. The indoor simulators, staffed every evening, let you keep playing when the course is quiet.
The course sits at Grødem, east of Hognestad and about 4 km south of Bryne. From road 44, turn off 2 km south of Bryne towards Håland industrial area and follow the road for 3 km towards Hognestad, where signs point to the course.
