Overview
TPC Boston, in Norton, Massachusetts, is the state’s only PGA TOUR-owned facility. It has hosted 17 PGA TOUR events, 13 of them FedExCup Playoff events. Arnold Palmer designed the original course in the Great Woods of Norton, and it opened as a private club in 2002, when Golf Digest named it one of the top 10 new private clubs in the country.
In 2007 Gil Hanse redesigned the course, with tour player Brad Faxon as consultant, to make it sit more naturally in the New England landscape. Golf Digest named the result its Best Private Remodel of 2007. Today it measures about 7,261 yards with bentgrass greens and 64 bunkers; the club lists the course as both par 71 and par 72 on different pages, so check the scorecard. Five sets of tees on every hole make it playable for everyday members as well as tour pros.
The New England shingle-style clubhouse covers 34,000 square feet and includes the Main Dining Room and Grille Room, both overlooking the 18th, a wine vault, full locker rooms, and a golf shop listed among the top 100 in the U.S. by Golf World Business. A 10-acre practice facility has a 70,000-square-foot practice tee, two putting greens and short-game areas.

History & highlights
From 2003 to 2016 TPC Boston hosted the Deutsche Bank Championship, won by Adam Scott, Vijay Singh, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy among others. It then hosted the Dell Technologies Championship, THE NORTHERN TRUST in 2020 and the LPGA’s FM Championship. The 18th green was rebuilt in 2011 as a smaller, raised target guarded by a pot bunker, which makes the closing par 5 a tougher finish.
542 yards with bunkers right off the tee and a green that runs towards water on the right. The lay-up position matters more than distance.
A 298-yard risk-and-reward hole to a narrow 22-pace green behind a huge bunker. Aim at the front-right corner.
231 yards uphill, with a deep bunker below the green and fescue mounds to the right. Aim for the centre of the green.

Tips for first-timers
- Leave the jeans at home: they are not allowed anywhere on the property.
- On the 4th, a miss to the right is far better than one left.
- Aim at the middle of the green on the 11th; right-side pins bring big numbers into play.
- Allow time for the practice tee, which is tour-standard.
Map & location
The club is at 400 Arnold Palmer Boulevard, about half a mile down Route 140 South from I-495 exit 11. Norton Country Club is about 1 km away, and Gillette Stadium is a 15-minute drive.
